Brahu Temple
Candi Brahu / Brahu Temple was built in style and culture of Buddhism. It is estimated, the temple was established in the 15th century. Although there are differences of opinion on this matter. Some say the temple is much older than the other temples in Trowulan

Brahu is one of the temples located in the archaeological site of Trowulan, the former capital of Majapahit. It is located in Dukuh JambuMente, Desa Bejijong, Kecamatan Trowulan, Kabupaten Mojokerto, East Java. This temple was built of red brick. To glue the red brick one with the other was used rubbing system, without the use of cement in construction. Awesome. Unfortunately, the technology is not relegated to the current generation.

In the inscriptions written by Mpu Sendok on 9 September 939 AD (861 Saka), Brahu temple was called an incinerator (crematorium) remains king. Surprisingly in this study, none of the experts has managed to find corpses ashes  in the temple room. It was verified after the restoration of the temple in 1990 and 1995.

The word "Brahu" came from the word "Wanaru or Warahu". The name was derived from being a sacred building as mentioned in the Alasantan Inscription were found not far from Brahu Temple.

Brahu Temple began restoration in 1990 and completed in 1995. According to residents in the surrounding area not far from Brahu there were several other temples, such as the Muteran, Gedong, Tengah and Gentong Temple. Around the Brahu temple complex are discovered ancient objects, such as the ceremony metal tools, jewelry and other objects of gold and metal statues.  All of which showed characteristics of Buddhism.
